Hello Alamo City! Hello New Car!

Hello Alamo City! Hello New Car!

It’s been a whirlwind of a last few weeks!  I finally have a chance to sit down and blog since I am settled in to my new apartment here in San Antonio.  Oh what’s that, you hadn’t heard?  Why yes, I’m back in the Alamo city again!  I’ve never felt more at home.

Of course actually getting out of the valley was a challenge, if you’ll recall my darling PT Cruiser “Clementine” was totaled in McAllen’s freak hail storm.  But out of her destruction I was able to make my first real big kid college graduate purchase of a beautiful 2012 Honda Civic LX!  It’s like driving a smooth talkin’ eco-friendly super affordable computer.  The functions inside the car are just as smooth as the ride of the car.  What do you think?  In honor of my career change and “drive” this year I have named her Peggy, after Mad Men’s Peggy Olson:

After that we finally got packed up and on the road for San Antonio!  Chris and I selected a beautiful third floor apartment that is awesome in every way except when you have to move stuff into the apartment.  I think I may just need to shorten that wedding dress because in seven months I’ll have legs that demand an Angelina Jolie style leg-off~

In case you hadn’t heard, I’m the new Marketing Specialist with the City of San Antonio’s Economic Development Department!  I completed my first week last week just in time for Fiesta!  The experience of working downtown again has been very rewarding.  I’m more active again, exploring the city and all its culture and so happy to have Chris here to explore with me!

I haven’t quite finished decorating my office but here’s a peek of what’s to come:

I will always love McAllen, but I just have to say…San Antonio is amazing, just like I remember it.
