Muve Music Festival - July

Blog originally written for It was a breezy July evening in McAllen and the famous McAllen Convention Center Oval Park was transformed into a groovin', peaceful, ultra hip lounge scene complete with killer tracks, local arts and crafts vendors, snacks and rows of folks lounging on blankets, beach towels and beach chairs.

The Muve Music Festival provided quality, free entertainment in a family friendly and "green" setting. Folks were encouraged to bring their dogs and registered via QR codes instead of traditional tickets.

This month's festival featured headlining DJ Mark Farina and coincided with the Omnicon Convention, which provided a unique mix of "cosplay" costumed attendees also enjoying the outdoor jams.

The boy and I had fun people watching and just enjoying the grooves.  We noted that for the August 12th festival we'll definitely bring picnic gear and more friends with us.  I definitely recommend you check out the next show.  It's hard to find quality, free entertainment in the RGV and this festival is pretty cool. I can see it growing over the years if the community supports it.
