Rising star and US Senate candidate Ted Cruz has won yet another straw poll, this time in the Alamo city.  Cruz' campaign has been picking up momentum over the past year, winning all three of the last straw polls and receiving major endorsements from George P. Bush, Cathie Adams and FreedomWorks. From the Cruz HQ:

“These straw poll results are very encouraging, and are a direct result of the tremendous grassroots support we’re seeing all across Texas,” said Cruz. “Voters are hungry for a proven conservative—someone with a demonstrated national record, not just rhetoric—and are looking for a senator who will lead the fight to stop the Obama agenda, defend free-market principles, and defend the Constitution.” The straw poll on Saturday in San Antonio was the second of six Senate candidate forums organized by Tea Party group New Revolution Now. The King Street Patriots forum in Houston, on June 23, was the first of that series. Earlier, on May 17, the Greater Houston Council of Republican Women—the umbrella group for the Republican Women’s clubs in the 10 counties surrounding Houston (which together comprise 25% of the statewide population)—held their own straw poll, which Cruz also won.
