Country singer Clay Walker is the headlining act at this year's Community Day, at HESTEC.

The Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology (HESTEC) conference at the University of Texas Pan American, which runs from September 26 through October 1, promotes the importance of science literacy to thousands of students, parents and teachers. Now in its 10th year, HESTEC has become a national model for how to improve student attitudes about careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

HESTEC beings with Educator Day on Monday, Student Leadership Day Tuesday, Latina Day on Wednesday, Robotics Day on Thursday, a Career Expo on Saturday, and Community Day on Saturday.
