Diana Ross at the Majestic

Diana Ross is the boss for a reason.  She puts on a show like no other.  If you've never had the chance to see her live, you're missing out.  From her incredible stage presence, to her powerhouse live vocals to her absolutely brilliant smile, she puts on the show of a lifetime.  I've had the pleasure of seeing her several times, including meeting her a couple of years ago at the Majestic (and getting an autograph too!) but no show quite compared to this one. As an early birthday present, I treated myself to the closest seat I've ever had to her show.  Attending a concert by yourself is even more fun, because it's just you and the artist.  It's a rush of independence, dancing on your own to your idol's hits, and trust me, you'll make friends at a Diana Ross show.

As the San Antonio Express-News put it:

Her voice still cuts through the mix. Impressive when one considers she’s competing with electric guitar, bass, drums, percussion, grand piano, four horns and three backup singers.

“Stop! In the Name of Love” had dozens imitating Ross’ famous out-stretched hand gesture from the Supremes.

How long has she been doing it that way? Fifty years – and it never gets old (though it did look like Ross cracked herself up doing it).
