Weekend Trip to Little Rock
Road trips are fun, but even more fun when you're surrounded by love and sunshine. Heat advisory or not, we took a top down Jeep road trip up to Little Rock, Arkansas for a nice out of state getaway.
Little Rock is a really great place to visit. It's affordable, fun, walkable and there's so much rich history to experience. We stayed in the River Market area, which was really the perfect location. It was in walking distance to the Clinton Library and we even walked across the Junction Bridge to catch a baseball game.
The night we arrived we grabbed a bite and walked around exploring the River Market district. There was live music going on and the evening felt really welcoming.
I really enjoyed visiting the Clinton Library. It's pretty astonishing to read about his stances on free trade and charter schools. I don't think he'd be able to secure the Democratic Party nomination by today's party standards. Of course, Socks the Cat was also on full display.
The next day we took a brief historical tour, visiting the Arkansas State Capitol and Little Rock Central High School. Central High School was the site of the "Little Rock Nine" where schools in the United States were integrated for the first time. It's a stunning campus.
Finally, that evening we walked across the bridge for a fun baseball game!
All in all an awesome trip! Can't wait to check another Presidential Library off the list too.
