Reason to Argue

I stumbled upon a news article my local paper wrote about me when I was about 15 years-old. Now, 14 years later, it's funny to reflect on what I thought my life was going to be like.  I felt like I was the oldest 15 year-old around.  Now I feel like the oldest 29 year-old around.  But even as a wise, old 15 year-old, I thought I could plan my whole life out. unnamed

NYU was my dream school.  I ended up deciding to pass on what could've been a mountain of student loan debt and opt for a sensibly priced education.  While part of me will always wonder what could've been at NYU, I'm happy with my decision to stay in Texas.  As you'll see in the article, I also thought I'd go to law school.

It may not be too late to cross that dream off my list, but right now I'm happy with my decision to work nonstop.  Had I not worked full time through college I wouldn't be where I am at such a young age.  It's true that when I travel I still track down a newspaper.  I don't think I want to be the President anymore, but I'd love to be the White House Press Secretary. A role a Latina has never filled.

What this article showed me is that I've always been opinionated. I've never been shy.  I have worn red lipstick since as far back as I can remember. And chokers are back in style...

Ah debate style.

I planned my life out as much as I could.  It didn't turn out according to that plan, but it's a good life.
