A week in the life
In continuing with my girl power praise, last week was a week of outstanding girl power moments. On Thursday night I joined my colleagues Megan and Christine at the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce Legends Gala, where Christine's father was being recognized. My batteries were recharged with a fun night on the town at the Pearl.

Friday's lunch was a meetup with my Gridiron Girls, Alese, Liz, Lorna, Nikiza and Lorraine. We had a great lunch full of laughter, support for one another and some silly travel stories over delicious Tex Mex at Rosario's. No lunch is complete without a photo:
There are so many things I love about this photo. We all have different backgrounds, different stories and different personalities, but we share a few common interests that make us friends beyond the stage.
As a special treat, I got to see my Comadre Lorraine twice in one day! My dear friend and Hispanic Chamber / Latina Leadership Institute Board Member Erika Prosper introduced us to an organization called Significant U. The group raises money and collects dresses for young women to go to their Proms! But more than that, the organization provides them with mentorships and leadership development. It's more about female empowerment than fashion. We were excited to attend and contribute to the cause!
Finally, I closed out the week with a fun Great Gatsby style party with my best friend, who looks absolutely stunning in her flapper ensemble.
Less than one month until we get to see her marry the love of her life!
